Game Expo Scotland: Update / 28th of July 2014

Some more news about the inaugural gaming event has just been announced, this latest update included the announcement that some of the country’s very best Street Fighter players would be there in force to take part in exhibition matches to show the rest of the attendees just how the game should be played. Other highlights include a Mario Kart 8 session taking place on the big screen in the event’s Fun Zone. Between this and the expo’s association with publisher Deep Silver, who are bringing both Dead Island 2 and Homefront: The Revolution to Scotland, Games Expo Scotland will surely be an event marked in any gamer’s calendar. GES 2014 gets the hottest esports event in the country

EDINBURGH, SCOTLAND - July 25th, 2014 - Game Expo Scotland 2014 is getting it’s eSport zones pumped up to the max with the likes of Mario Kart 8, Tekken Tag Tournament 2, Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3, and recent indie hit Gang Beasts.

Teaming up with Versus Scotland, Scotland’s fighting game community, Game Expo Scotland will bring gamers competitive fun across three distinct zones.

In The Fun Zone gamers will get to play an incredible selection of current and retro games, topped off with a Mario Kart 8 session taking place on the big screen!

Over in The Casual Zone gamers can challenge friends - and rivals - at a diverse range of fighting games. We’ll have Capcom’s finest Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3, Namco Bandai’s tense tag battler Tekken Tag Tournament 2, and hilarious indie brawler Gang Beasts.

Gamers who head to The Ultra Zone on Saturday will be treated to Frame Trapped creator Tom Piddock, as he brings interactive tutorials and guides to help gamers learn how to play some of the best fighting games around, including Ultra Street Fighter IV.

The Ultra Zone also contains exhibition matches from top fighting game players, including the cream of the Scottish crop, such as Milligano, Bigfool, Breslin, and Faker, so you can see how the best do it.

Heading down to The Ultra Zone on Sunday means gamers can take part in an official Capcom Pro Tour Ranking Tournament! This is the prime opportunity for gamers to show off their Ultra Street Fighter IV skills!

It doesn’t matter what level of skill they’ve got either as novices and pros alike can step up to the plate and put their skills to the test against each other as they fight for glory. And, it’s not just glory they’ll gain as the winner will get seeding points to the global Capcom Pro Tour - the most desirable destination for competitive fighting games.
